Re: Closure Announcement to Media, Partners, and Vendors.

I am writing to inform you that Church World Service/Resettlement Support Center (CWS/RSC) will be closing its Kigali office and Country Program on June 30, 2025. This is a direct result of the US President’s Executive Order on “Realigning The United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP),” dated January 20, 2025.

The US Government’s directives and our closure were an unforeseen event, and we apologize for the inconvenience it has caused our partners and the refugees we supported in their quest for resettlement to the US. Since our arrival, Church World Service and the Resettlement Support Centre we operate have been committed to serving the people of Rwanda and providing needed refugee and host community assistance to those in need. We deeply appreciate all the assistance you have rendered to CWS/RSC during our time here.

  • To facilitate our timely closure, if you are a CWS/RSC vendor, please ensure that any unpaid invoices are submitted to CWS/RSC (procurement@cwsafrica.orgby December 24, 2025. If we do not hear from you by December 25, 2025 we will assume there are no further obligations.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Scott Muttersbaugh
