JOB OPPORTUNITY: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Jonathan Foundation Academy

The Jonathan Foundation Academy is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Director of Operations to lead the successful launch and management of our new boarding school, serving 300 bright students from vulnerable backgrounds who have each earned full scholarships. This is a serious, mission-driven leadership role requiring excellence, integrity, and deep operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational aspects of a newly established boarding school.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning across academic, residential, and administrative domains.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to uphold the school’s mission and standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that support student safety, learning, and wellbeing.
  • Represent the Academy at events; deliver speeches and lectures to large audiences when required.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and external partners to promote long-term sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in both Education and Management (or an equivalent dual qualification).
  • 8+ years of professional experience across education and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or comparable institution.
  • Proven ability to speak confidently and effectively in front of large crowds.
  • Fluency in English, French, and Kinyarwanda (written and spoken).
  • Currently employed in a relevant role.
