JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Director will lead and oversee all financial activities for Abahizi CBC. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial stability, profitability, and growth for the company. In addition, the Finance Director is expected to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure accurate financial reporting for all departments.

Duties and responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing financial projections and risk assessments.
  • Partner with department heads to understand their financial needs and develop solutions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial performance.
  • Participate in long-term organizational strategy creation and planning, quarterly and annual.
  • Support all aspects of company’s strategic decision-making via sound financial planning and analysis to enable rapid and rooted growth and in all key aspects of financial management
  • Develop and support financial tools and training for Abahizi CBC staff Develop and implement fundraising strategies for Abahizi CBC.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and budgets aligned with company goals.
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial risk.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual) according to national and company standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Managing Director and Board of Directors, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Determine oversee the total cost in manufacturing a product including materials, labor and overhead

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Accountable for full tax and regulatory compliance of the business (Statutory returns, Corporate Tax, PAYE, RSSB, VAT, WHT, etc.)
  • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure a smooth and successful audit process.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks and other financial institutions.

Reporting and Audit Management

  • Produce monthly/quarterly financial reports providing variance analysis and in-depth understanding of the key drivers of the business performance.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports and narratives / visuals for internal team, stakeholders, and authorities
  • Leading and coordinating the annual external audit to meet reporting deadlines
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance (IFRS, IAS standards).
  • Manage operational and financial controls, and evolve them as Abahizi CBC grows

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Good knowledge of English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Proven understanding of local taxation policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in financial reporting software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
