Supply Chain Manager

Position Overview

A prominent agricultural company in Kigali is looking for a skilled and proactive Supply Chain Manager. This key role involves managing the entire supply chain process, from transporting produce from the farm to handling warehousing, packaging, and export operations. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in supply chain management, exceptional organizational capabilities, and the expertise to oversee various facets of the supply chain seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Management:

• Coordinate and manage the transportation of produce from the farm to various destinations.
• Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining the quality and integrity of the produce.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs.

Warehousing and Inventory Management:

• Oversee warehousing operations, ensuring proper storage and handling of produce.
• Implement inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
• Monitor and manage warehouse capacity and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Packaging and Export Operations:

• Supervise packaging operations to ensure produce is packed according to customer specifications and export regulations.
• Coordinate with export partners and ensure compliance with all export documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance packaging efficiency and reduce costs.

Supply Chain Optimization:

• Analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the supply chain.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

• Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the agricultural sector.
• Proven track record of managing transportation, warehousing, packaging, and export operations.
