The project target is to developing the pig value chain in the six clusters leading to increased participant household income in 12 months where the objective of the project is to produce more sellable pigs so that participant’ daily income raises to at least 5 USD a day per family. This objective is for the overall programme implemented by WVR called THRIVE 2030 where the PVC project is one of its projects under value chains development.

Justification of needs

THRIVE 2030-Pig Value Chain Project is being implemented by DUHAMIC-ADRI in the partnership with World Vision in 15 districts of Rwanda grouped into 6 clusters namely Akagera, Kivu, Tunga, Nyungwe, Ishema and Buranga. The project aims at developing Pig Value chain among farmers already working with World Vision in saving groups and other UPGs.

For The THRIVE 2030-PVC project’ activities to be successful, there is need of field trip using motorcycles. Project’s activities will require to be monitored by field officers who have to travel frequently at field using motorcycles. This is why there is need to purchase motorcycles for facilitating the implementation and monitoring of project’s activities at field level as the key material to perform well the field work.

It is in that perspective DUHAMIC-ADRI would like to procure three (3) motorcycles familiar to field to be used in PVC project’s activities.
