Term of Reference for Research and Scientific Writing Consultant
Background
The Rwanda Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RSOG) is committed to promoting excellence in obstetric and gynecological health in Rwanda. In line with our mission, we seek to engage a highly qualified Research and Scientific Writing Consultant to support our efforts in conducting research, scientific writing, research dissemination, advocacy, and education in women’s healthcare. The consultant will play a crucial role in producing high-quality scientific documents, including research articles, guidelines, and policy briefs
Deliverables
The Research and Scientific Writing Consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Draft, review, and edit manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on research findings, including implications for practice and policy.
- Review women’s healthcare guidelines and research proposals drafted by RSOG members.
- Grant Proposals: Assist in writing grant applications to secure funding for research projects
Qualifications
Education:
- PhD in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Public Health, Global Health, or a related medical field.
Experience
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in scientific writing, research, and project management in healthcare or medical academia.
- Proven record of accomplishment of publications in high-impact journals.
- Experience in consulting or advising health organizations or NGOs.
- Experience as an acting Editor and reviewer for High impact journals.
- Experience leading teams in clinical trials and health project management.
Skills
- Excellent scientific writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of the scientific publication process and requirements of high-impact journals.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and engaging documents.
- Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders in healthcare and research.
- Have good presentation and communication skills.
Language
- Proficiency in English is required.

- This assignment will be conducted in Rwanda (KG 546 St, KEA 2nd Floor, Building B, Gasabo District, Kigali, Rwanda)
